3 Reasons Why We Love Malagos

Writer: Kurt DaKurt Da

There are many Davao local resorts in the City but among all, one that I will always support and believe in is the Malagos Garden Resort. Notably one the biggest inland garden resorts in Davao City, with all of its great amenities, familial service, and great food, it is no wonder why it is being tagged as one of the best resorts in Davao City. As one who lives near the area, it is not because of convenience that I love them. Nor do any of my relatives work with them. Here are three reasons why I will always be a fan:

Compassion over anything else. Remember during the onset of the pandemic and they had to close their doors? Many local farmers near us were disheartened. Most of them only had the resort as their source of income. But Malagos remained true to their promise. They were quick to innovate their way around the pandemic. This led to the budding of the Malagos Homegrown Produce. Local farmers were told to not stop growing and nurturing their produce. It was quite a duo to see really- each of them doing their best to keep each other afloat.

Edutainment and eye opening experiences. From their bird shows to their museums, you can get a glimpse of unspoken problems nature and culture are struggling with. It is humbling to know that you can actually do something about it. Everytime I enjoy Malagos, I am always reminded that small acts create a ripple and I want that act to start with me.

The love for the local lands. Did you know that most of the people who work in Malagos are also locals of the land? This is the reason why most of the plants there flourish and strive. The people there genuinely care for the environment they are in.

There are still so many things I want to add on the list but i’ll settle on these three for now. More than the need to entertain the people, Malagos Garden Resort also has a heart ready to serve. So whether it is a huge swing where I can shout my heart out or hanging bridges I have to pass to, all these trends are fun for a while. But nothing beats an experience that is from the heart. They are opening very soon and I hope you can visit them again! I think I am as excited as the people in the resort but really, who wouldn’t want another experience with nature?
