With a new year comes new goals. The new year brings fresh motivation to improve oneself and do better than last year. We usually write new year's resolutions for ourselves like vowing to actually go to the gym, learn a new language, or simply to be better at work and catch that promotion.

Usually, at the end of the year, employers discuss with you your work performance. With this, you know what areas you need to improve on. There is no harm in planning your next moves to get ahead in the game and getting what you need to improve on sorted right away. But how do you improve your performance? Here’s what you could do:

Identify distractions

Today, it comes as no surprise that smartphones are always beside us. This device helps us stay connected and up-to-date, it instantly informs us about the latest news and is even the source of entertainment during coffee breaks.

Smartphones, at times, can be one of the sources of distractions that can affect your work performance. It would be best by turning off notifications during work hours, so you could focus more on work and be more productive. Although this is not the only distraction in work, it would be best that you yourself should identify what distracts you at work. And by removing these distractions you can start focusing more on work so that you can develop healthy habits and routines in the workplace.

Setting goals

One of the things productive people have in common is that they set goals. It helps you in seeing and observing your development. It also helps in setting up your priorities because each step you take makes you think of your goal and how your actions affect your goals.

Communicate

In order to flourish in the workplace, one needs to learn how to effectively communicate. It gives the capability of understanding tasks more efficiently. When given the opportunity to join a team building, participate, open up and enjoy. Group games for team building are a way for the team to get to know you better and vice versa. When you know who you could rely on at work, you can work better.

Ask feedback

Ask for feedback from your workmates or team leaders regularly. In this way, you will know what to improve on next time because the only way to improve is to learn.

Learn when to take a timeout

One should learn how to give the brain a break in order to avoid burning out. There are many resorts in Davao City where you can relax, swim, take a stroll and just breath in the fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Malagos Garden Resort has the best services and facilities that can help you unwind and get ready for the busy work week ahead.
