Many people say that those born with a silver spoon have no right to complain. Many assume that they have all the things they can ever ask for, and they can just go on living without having to do the hard work because their ancestors already did it for them. But I want to disagree.
My name is Stefanie and I can say I am one of those few who are really lucky and blessed because I can enjoy the finer things in life. I am an only child and heiress to some of the biggest food corporations in Mindanao. I am very grateful to my parents because they work hard to give me everything I need and maybe I am in no position to really feel sad sometimes. At 18, I got my first car and my first company that I slowly learned to manage. It’s amazing because not many girls at that age have the privilege of having what I have.
But sometimes, it can be lonely. My family is high profile in Davao City and because of this I cannot go out without bodyguards. I’ve had bodyguards since I was in preschool and now I’m 29 years old. It’s sad because I can’t make friends without doubting if their intentions are real. Sometimes it feels really suffocating because all I truly want is to live a normal life. I want to experience the outdoors, breathe fresh air, and just live normal. The pandemic made everything worse because since I’m an only child, my parents became extra protective. For 4 months, I’m locked at home while my parents go to work and continue the business. I cried many times because I felt like I’m in prison. So finally I talked to my mom and asked her if I can have a break because I’m having a mental breakdown.
Luckily, she agreed and told me to go to this glamping beach resort in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. She knows the owners. I never heard of the place but I went there with my yaya, driver and 1 bodyguard. We checked in Camp Bernardino de Lavigan, Governor Generoso’s new beach destination. And true enough, the entire beach escape made me relaxed and relieved from all the worries I felt. It’s such a breath of fresh air to be experiencing glamping in Davao Oriental and being able to mingle with the locals and being just me! With no one to ever know me personally. I had fun during my stay at the resort. To all other high-profile people like me, I suggest that you check out this resort! Because it’s secluded and safe, you can do whatever you want and live normally, just like what you’ve always wanted. Learn more about them now on their Facebook page.
