Snorkeling with the Kids

Writer: Kurt DaKurt Da

Going to the beach with the family is something that we all look forward to. After months of being stuck at home watching TV series, working online and doing regular things, we are now vacation-hungry. Good thing there are now a lot of budding resorts in Davao region that the family can go to and spend some quality time in. We all know the risks and dangers of going through airports to cross borders, so maybe it’s better if we just do land trips if we ever feel that we need a break from our daily lives.

One resort in Davao Oriental that caught our attention in particular is Cam Bernardino de Lavigan. This kid-friendly resort in Davao recently opened in July and immediately took over the social media feeds of the citizens because of its unique glamping feature. It’s not your typical resort where you'll check in a structured room. Instead you’ll be spending the night in spacious tents with air conditioners to feel closer to nature. It’s also a must-visit resort because of the many water activities that it offers which are all safe for kids. A classic activity that we all grew up with is snorkeling. We usually buy our own snorkeling gears from malls and bring them with us whenever we go to the beach. But what makes this resort unique are the following level-up ways on how you can enjoy your snorkeling activity with the little ones:

  1. You can snorkel in the open waters of the pacific ocean. Guided by an experienced boatman and professional divers, you can be assured of your safety when you dip into the abundant marine biodiversity of the area.

  2. The beautiful sunset is a plus point. You can schedule your snorkeling trip in the golden hours of 4-5pm and enjoy the view up above as much as you enjoy the rich seascapes down below.

  3. The gears are safe. You can buy your own mouth piece to make sure that your gears are 100% hygienic and sanitary. No need to worry about the pandemic. Just have fun all you want in a safe way!
